For sale is my 1961 Lakewood wagon.
Owned by a 25 year ASE certified master automotive technician.
Texas car from day one. Originally sold in Waco, Texas.
Automatic, 1964 engine out of a van or truck and transmission with the transverse leaf spring from 1964 only. 1964 dash assembly.
Zero rust through. Runs, drives and shifts nicely. No seat belts.
New hydraulic brake system. Stops perfectly.
Non original carpet, door panels and seat coverings.
Super straight with a few dents on the chrome trim and minor cosmetic paint bubbles on the lower edge. Always stored inside.
original functional AM radio.
yes it drips a couple tiny drops of oil after driving. it's not the Exxon Valdez, just a couple tiny drops.
Please don't expect me to be able to describe every single inconsistency or cosmetic flaw on a non restored 50 year old vehicle.
AGAIN THIS IS AN UNRESTORED DRIVER. IT'S BEEN PAINTED IN THE PAST.
NOT A TRAILER QUEEN
This vehicle is also listed locally, so ask for whatever pics or questions you may want.
I'm self employed and may donate this to Habitat for Humanity or something for a $5000.00 tax write off. No I won't donate it to you;-)
Buyer's checks welcome here and any photos taken as requested. May have had some body work at the right rear lower corner??
If you don't like the way it looks keep looking for your vehicle as this probably is not for you.
The camera intensifies the minor rust bubbles on the paint.
Pertronix electronic ignition.
You will not be disappointed.
supposedly 28,XXX original miles.
Please understand this is not a restored trailer queen. Just a very nice survivor that's completely functional.
Passed the difficult Texas state inspection with flying colors.
Door panels, carpet and seat coverings are not correct for this car.
Please inquire with what pics you want so I can get them for you.
I JUST RAN THE SERIAL NUMBERS ON THE BLOCK AND HEADS. It's a 1964 engine out of a van or a truck. THIS IS AN FC ENGINE AND IS most likely 95 HP according to the numbers. Wagons, FC's and trucks shared the same blocks??
anyway, It's not original to the car, but runs correctly.
I'm doing my best to offer the correct information for everyone.
Thanks for all your replies and questions.
Mike
